In 2001, Ron Williams joined Aetna as its President and was charged alongside its CEO to right the ship.  Williams was known for his operational chops but he soon discovered that Aetna needed to improve more than its processes, it needed to overhaul its culture and he proved to be the right man for the job.  Williams later became Chairman and CEO of Aetna continuing to successfully grow the company and transition it within a rapidly changing healthcare ecosystem.  Ron shares stories of how he was able to change the culture and return Aetna to a strong competitive position.  Ron also shares his approach and philosophy to leadership.  In his new book, Learning to Lead, Williams helps guide individuals at any stage of their careers by helping them understand: 1) Leading Yourself, 2) Leading Others and 3) Leading an Organization.  This book is a “must have” for any professional, regardless of your title or desire to lead, you’ll be sure to learn something that will help you in your career.
